FAIR MANAGER’S GREETINGS
Welcome, Fairgoers and Patrons, to the 2024 Lee Regional Fair!
County fairs are more than just fun events for families and communities. They also play an important role in promoting and supporting agriculture, especially for small and local farmers.
County fairs provide a platform for farmers to showcase their products, skills and innovations, and to connect with potential customers, partners and investors. County fairs also help educate the public about the value and challenges of agriculture, and foster a sense of appreciation and respect for the people who produce our food and fiber.
County fairs can also inspire the next generation of farmers and agricultural leaders, by exposing them to the opportunities and rewards of working in this sector. County fairs are, therefore, vital for the sustainability and growth of agriculture in our country.
Thank you all for being stellar patrons in our efforts — yes, yours too! — to make our community a better place to live.

HISTORY OF THE SANFORD LIONS CLUB
The Sanford Lions Club was organized in 1935 with 20 charter members. Our sponsoring club was the Raleigh Lions Club.
Our Club has sponsored 8 other clubs: Pittsboro (1937), Apex (1937), Biscoe (1938), Siler City (1938), Aberdeen (1938), Broadway (1950), Coats (1972) and Western Harnett (1998).
As one of the largest clubs in the State, we also sponsor the LEO clubs at Lee Senior High (2007) and Southern Lee High (2017).
In 1938, the Club became sponsor of the Lee Regional Fair. After WWII, with vision, the membership acquired the current property. Today, the 23 acres is host for several events including the Lee Regional Fair.
Our motto, WE SERVE, is the slogan for all Lions Clubs throughout the world, and our commitment is to our community. During Fair Week, we distribute approximately $125,000 for prizes, awards, scholarships, labor and purchases. In addition, we also support vision exams in all the county schools, the vision van, several scholarships, Camp Dogwood, Boys and Girls Home, Helping Hands Clinic, Sanford Area Soccer League, and the School Back Pack Program.
